How it works
Everything you need to launch your first contest and keep it alive. No jargon, just the moves that matter.
In 3 steps
From zero to your first podium
Invite PodiumBot
Click "Add to Discord", pick your server, accept the permissions. 30 seconds, done.
Launch your contest
Type /contest create in the channel of your choice, give it a name and a theme (best cat, best burger, best meme…). Off you go.
Let your community play
Members submit with /submit add, vote with /vote. When you close voting, the podium drops big in front of the channel.
A contest's life
4 phases, in order
- 01
Submissions open
Members can post their entry. You can moderate if needed.
- 02
Voting open
No new submissions. Every member rates the entries from 1 to 5 stars.
- 03
Closed
The gold/silver/bronze podium drops in the channel, automatically.
- 04
(or Cancelled)
Change of heart? You can cancel anytime before close — no podium published.
Admin side
For the people running the show
Reserved to members with the "Manage Server" permission.
/contest createLaunch a contest
Pick a name, a channel where everything gets posted, the number of winners (3 by default). Submissions open right away.
/contest open-votingMove to voting
Once you've got enough entries, close submissions and open the voting phase.
/contest closeClose and publish the podium
Close voting. PodiumBot computes the winners and posts the podium in the channel.
/contest cancelCancel
Cancel an ongoing contest — no podium published. Use it if something really went sideways.
/contest infoSee details
Lists the participants, current ratings and the contest status.
/classement createLaunch a multi-criteria ranking
For long-running evaluations across multiple axes (films your server watched together, scored on plot, acting, soundtrack, cinematography, pacing). Pick a name and channel; finalise the subjects and criteria from the web dashboard (Manage button). Nobody can vote while the ranking is in draft.
/classement openOpen the ranking to votes
Once your subjects and criteria are set, open it. The ranking goes live: every rating triggers an embed update with trader-style trend arrows (🔼+2, 🔽-1, ➖, 🆕).
/classement archiveFreeze a ranking
Locks the ratings — the ranking stays visible but no new vote is accepted. Optional: a ranking can stay open indefinitely.
/classement cancelCancel a ranking
Cancel a ranking without freezing it (ratings stay in the DB for audit, but no new vote is accepted).
/classement infoSee details
Shows status, channel, subject and criterion counts, plus a direct link to the web page.
/settings localeChange the bot's language
Switch between English and French for the bot's replies on your server. PodiumBot tries to auto-detect the server's language when invited — use this to override manually.
Member side
What your community can do
Available to every member of the server.
/submit addSend a contest submission
Pick the contest, drop your image as an attachment, give it a title and a small description if you want.
/submit deleteRemove your submission
While submissions are open, you can delete yours and send another. After that, it's locked in.
/voteVote in a contest
Browse the entries one by one, rate them from 0 to 10. You can't vote for yourself — nice try.
/resultsSee a contest podium
Live podium during voting, final podium after close. Updated in real time.
"Rate on the web" buttonRate in a ranking (classement)
On a ranking embed, click the button — the web rating page opens with one subject at a time and a 0-5 slider per criterion. Auto-saved. You can edit your ratings any time as long as the ranking isn't archived.
